The difference between a trend and a resonance is that a trend needs to be explained. If someone has to tell you it's cool, the resonance already failed. The body knows before the mind does — that's the mechanism.

Bourdieu never used the word cool. But his entire body of work is a map of how it moves. Capital accrues. Fields tilt. The person with the most symbolic capital defines what counts as symbolic capital. It's circular until it isn't — until something from outside the field breaks the circuit.

Keynes said demand is everything. He was right but he didn't finish the thought. Demand isn't generated by need — it's generated by desire. And desire is generated by meaning. Cool is the demand creation layer that economics forgot to theorise.

Adam Smith gave us the invisible hand. The invisible hand moves according to price signals. But price signals don't capture the full picture — they never captured why Nirvana was worth something before anyone knew what it was worth. Coolnomics is the theory of the invisible hand's invisible hand.
