The Core Coolnomics Question

How valuable is your idea?

Coolnomics 101 is the lecture series that teaches you how to answer that question, for any idea, at any stage.

A Room of Hot Nerds – and You're One of Them

Economics professors. Venture capitalists. DJs. Fashion designers. Marketing managers. Corporate leaders. Artists. Talented scallywags.

This multidisciplinary room doesn't exist anywhere else. A DJ sitting next to a banking executive, a professor sitting next to a beauty creator – both taking notes about their ideas.

The quality of the audience forms the quality of the experience. It's about time we were all together in the same space, asking the questions that relate to our practices.

What you'll experience

The Three Lecture Series

Cool and economics have never been taught as the same subject, until now. Culture moves faster than the models built to explain it, and AI is speeding that up faster still.

Hegel gave us the logic for how an idea moves through a culture. Adam Smith gave us the logic for how it makes money. Sesame Street and DJ Shadow have been doing both for fifty years.

This is the room where the cool and the nomics are read as one continuous argument, not two separate ones.

Come once and you're literate.
Come twice and you're fluent.
Come three times and you're in the dialectic.

Every lecture · the four parts
01
The History of Cool
Where cool comes from and the politics underneath it. Hegel and the Zeitgeist. Bourdieu on taste and distinction. From Coco Chanel to Elvis to Nirvana to Sesame Street - how cool has always moved, and why it always will.
02
The History of the Economy
Adam Smith, the granddaddy of capitalism. The economy from ancient markets to now, through Keynes, Friedman and Marx. The science of economics, applied live to real examples in the room.
03
What is Coolnomics?
Why cool and economics are the same question, and why that matters more now than ever. Cultural resonance and commercial viability aren't two conversations, they're one act. The value of an idea, human and commercial, has always been the whole game. You'll meet the Coolnometer - the instrument for reading any idea's cool and its nomics, at any stage.
04
Apply it. Live, in the room.
We run the Coolnometer on three real ideas at three different stages: a founder, a corporate case, an investor's deal. You watch each reading unfold, and leave knowing exactly which Coolnomics practice to apply to your own idea next, and why. This is the reason you came.

Buy the full series and you can submit your own idea or business for the chance to have it run through the Coolnometer live, in the room.

The Room
Founders
Whether you've just got the idea or you're already running it, you need to know how good it is, and how it makes money.
Corporate
You work inside an organisation and lead innovation and strategy.
Venture Capitalists
You value ideas for a living. You want an instrument sharper than gut feel and a pitch deck.
